The Philadelphia Eagles need to add more offense to the team this season.
The Philadelphia Eagles are currently in a free fall, with the team losing three straight games entering Week 6 of the season.
One of the biggest reasons for this has been the lack of a consistent offense for this team, as the group has spiraled as the year has gone on. Injuries have taken out multiple of the Eagles' offensive stars, but the entire unit just looks off.
Both star running back Saquon Barkley and star wide receiver DeVonta Smith have been out due to hamstring injuries, and this has limited the ceiling of the team. But the Eagles don't want to make excuses, with the team still trying to go after another Super Bowl title.
One way to make that happen could be for the front office to look to bring in more talent before the NFL trade deadline expires this year. Philadelphia has consistently been one of the more aggressive teams in the league when it comes to making roster moves, and this could play out in a similar way this season.
Bleacher Report's NFL analyst Kristopher Knox mentioned veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy as a possible option for the Eagles to consider. Jeudy is likely to be moved before the trade deadline, with the Cleveland Browns not factoring him into their game plan as much anymore.
Cleveland reportedly wants a third-or-fourth round pick for Jeudy, but the Eagles may be able to get that down to a fifth. If they could land the former Pro Bowl wide receiver for a fifth-rounder, it may be a steal.
Putting Jeudy next to Smith, when he's healthy, could give quarterback Jalen Hurts more to work with going forward. While Jeudy has struggled this year in the Browns offensive attack, he isn't that far removed from putting up over an 1,000-yard season with Cleveland in 2024.
The Eagles could use him to help take some of the burden off Smith, which has been an issue to open the year. Smith needs help in the receiving corps, and Jeudy could help spread the field out for Philadelphia.
Overall, this could be a very solid move for the Eagles to consider, and it could help raise the ceiling of this team for the remainder of the year. Philadelphia can't afford to keep going at the same rate offensively, and Jeudy could at least give the team some extra depth to use.
