There seems to be a lot of faith in Philadelphia this week.
As the Philadelphia Eagles get ready for their game this week, the team has some soul-searching to do.
The Eagles enter Week 8 having lost five games in a row, with the team in freefall from its strong start to the year. But not all of this has been in the team's control, with Philadelphia dealing with all sorts of injuries, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Not only have the Eagles lost starting quarterback Jalen Hurts for the rest of the NFL season due to a scary blood clot issue. But the team has seen star wide receiver DeVonta Smith and running back Saquon Barkley be in and out of the lineup with injuries.
This has limited the overall ceiling of the team, but the Eagles aren't giving up hope just yet. Philadelphia will be taking on the Washington Commanders this week on Sunday Night Football, giving the team a chance to get back on track.
The Eagles will come into the game with a record of 2-5 on the season, looking to break the losing streak. For the Commanders, they own a record of 1-4-1 on the year, and they have seen their own share of problems this season.
Before the game kicks off, multiple analysts from Bleacher Report made picks for the winner between the teams. Experts Gary Davenport, Brad Gagnon, Kris Knox, Moe Moton, Brent Sobleski, Wes O'Donnell, and Ian Hanford all made picks, with four of the seven going with Philadelphia to win.
Davenport, Gagnon, Hanford, and O'Donnell were the four to go with the Eagles to grab the win this week. Even with the game being played on the road and Philadelphia undermanned, the Eagles still received more votes.
Backup quarterback Tanner McKee will start again for the Eagles, and he will be relied upon heavily in the game. McKee has to take care of the ball, limiting turnovers against a feisty Commanders defense.
Philadelphia will be without Smith for the game again, but Barkley has no injury designation coming into the week. This could give the Eagles a slight boost, with Barkley being able to play in this game.
If the Eagles can get a win, it could give them some needed momentum for the rest of the season. This would allow them to avoid falling into last place within the NFC East division, with the Commanders still behind them currently.
Kickoff for the game between the Eagles and Commanders is scheduled to take place at 5:20 p.m. PT/8:20 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium.
