Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman sounds pretty committed to QB Jalen Hurts.
The 2026 campaign is not a make-or-break season for QB Jalen Hurts, according to Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman.
Philadelphia lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round of the playoffs last season, but Roseman doesn't like a guy who is looking to replace Hurts.
"I think the bottom line for us ... is winning football games and all the guy does is win football games," Roseman said during an appearance on 94 WIP on Wednesday. "That includes our head coach [Nick Sirianni] as well.
"For me, the barometer is winning football games. In terms of what Jalen does, he's another guy with a tremendous track record. All he does is go out and play good football. Really excited to have him as our quarterback, excited about this season and what we have going forward, and I know there are a lot of fanbases out there that would love the results we've had with him as our starting quarterback."
Hurts signed a five-year, $255 million extension with the Eagles in April 2023 that runs through the 2028 season, though this is the last season in which his salary is fully guaranteed.
Hurts has a 57-25 record as the Eagles' starting quarterback during the regular season since coming into the league in 2020. He has guided Philly to a pair of Super Bowl appearances, including a championship win over the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2024 season, in which Hurts earned Super Bowl MVP honors.
The Eagles traded A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots this offseason. Sean Mannion is the new OC, replacing Kevin Patullo. Mannion is a former NFL QB, so he's bonded well with Hurts.
A talented runner and thrower, Hurts finished the 2025 season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He completed 64.8% of his passes.
Hurts enters this season with 17,891 passing yards, 110 passing touchdowns, 3,554 rushing yards and 63 rushing touchdowns in his career. He's made the Pro Bowl three times
The Eagles open the 2026 season at home against the Washington Commanders. All eyes will be on Hurts and Mannion to see how they do in their first real game together.
