Over the last couple of years, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has seen his name become very popular in the NFL rumor mill.
At one point in time, he was considered to be one of the top young head coaches in football. Now, his name consistently gets thrown into the hot seat rumors.
Following a 2025 NFL season that saw the Eagles win the NFC East division and then get eliminated by the San Francisco 49ers at home in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, Sirianni's future has been a topic of conversation entering the offseason.
With that in mind, a new ominous outlook has been shared about Sirianni's future in Philadelphia.
According to Fox Sports analyst Ralph Vacchiano in a new column ranking the coaches on the hot seat in 2026, Sirianni ranked No. 2 behind just New York Jets lead man Aaron Glenn.
"The Eagles will probably win double-digit games and the NFC East again in 2026. But if they don’t advance in the playoffs, no one will be shocked if they make a change," Vacchiano wrote.
Recently, the Eagles have been mired in reporting about drama within the locker room. From A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts not liking each other to Saquon Barkley being unhappy, the rumors have been never ending. Some of that could fall back on the head coach.
Sirianni has had success since taking over the Philadelphia job back in 2021. He has compiled a 59-26 regular season record to go along with a 6-4 record in the playoffs. He won the Super Bowl in 2024 and made it to the big game back in 2022 before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs.
At the end of the day, Sirianni has done enough to warrant staying with the Eagles for awhile. That being said, in the business of the NFL anything can happen.
Should Philadelphia struggle in 2026 and miss the playoffs, the Eagles might be tempted to make a change. They expect to win and they expect to win big.
Expect to continue hearing the rumors about Sirianni's future throughout the offseason and into the 2026 campaign. He'll be feeling some extra pressure with the rumors swirling around him.
