Among the many things that Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has shown us over the past few years, improving on both sides of the football, no matter what it takes, is at the top of that list.
There have been times when Roseman has made the wrong decisions, just like every other general manager in the NFL, but for the most part, he's willing to admit when he's wrong and attempts to go out and fix that.
Right now, I don't want to say the Eagles have any black holes on their roster, but there are certainly ways for them to improve.
If the Eagles want to get better, there's a very good chance that could happen before the start of the regular season.
There's also a world in which Philadelphia wants to see what it currently has and is willing to make a trade prior to the deadline. Just because a move doesn't get made right now doesn't mean something won't happen in the future.
Speaking to reporters about whether his roster is complete at the moment, Roseman went as far as to say that he knows it isn't. He didn't specifically say what he's trying to add, but stated that it'll even be incomplete throughout the course of the regular season.
"The roster's always a work in progress. Every day we're coming in, we're trying to find ways to get better. We're communicating with every team in the league to try to find fits, to see if there's opportunities to make ourselves better.
"It's certainly incomplete at this time. It will be incomplete throughout the course of the season. Any opportunity we have, and you look at our roster, it reminds me of just all the rooms that we have that evolve over the course of time. That's not a reflection of how we feel about our players now - excited about it, can't wait to see them out there - but any time we have a chance to get better, to improve our team, we're going to look at that,” he said, per Zach Berman.
A lot of teams, especially ones as talented as the Eagles are on both sides of the football, are typically content with keeping their core intact.
The Eagles, however, are different and are willing to prove that year in and year out.
