After being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, it seemed like former Miami Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips seemingly took a shot at his old team.

Phillips and the Dolphins didn't seem to have a bad relationship at all, but after saying that it was the greatest thing that's ever happened to him, in his whole life, it certainly seemed like that was the case.

“This is literally the greatest thing that’s happened to me in my whole life, probably,” Phillips said, per The Athletic.

However, he later went on to clarify what he actually meant by that statement.

Phillips wasn't attempting to take a shot at the Dolphins, but stated that this is a pivotal point in his life and career, and he's just excited to be with such a winning organization.

“I just think it’s a pivotal point in my life, in my career,” Phillips said when asked about his comment. “I have a little baby boy coming. Coming here, obviously, contract year next year … I just feel like this is an amazing opportunity for me to come in.”

As Phillips touched on, he's getting ready to welcome a kid into the world, which is obviously a lot more important than anything in the football world.

Some Dolphins fans made comments about that, stating that his kids should be more important, but obviously, that's the case, and Phillips was honestly just happy to get his career in a better spot due to how poorly the Dolphins have played over much of the past few years with him on the roster.

Phillips will have some tough decisions to make in his personal life and career moving forward, mainly due to his contract situation coming up.

If the Eagles are able to keep him around, he seems like a player who makes a lot of sense to re-sign.

It'll be interesting to see how he plays throughout the remainder of the season.

With his familiarity with former Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, it seems like a great fit all around.

Phillips will have a chance to show that on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers.
