    The Super Bowl MVP struggled.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the New York Giants on the road in Week 6 and QB Jalen Hurts struggled.

While the Super Bowl MVP went 24/33 through the air for 283 yards and one touchdown, Hurts threw a costly interception in the fourth quarter in the red zone when he had WR A.J. Brown wide open for a TD.

Hurts played so poorly against the Giants that NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave the playmaker the following grade: D.

"The Philadelphia Eagles offense isn't clicking and last week's meeting between the quarterback Jalen Hurts, running Saquon Barkley and wide receiver AJ Brown didn't make a difference during Thursday's contest against the New York Giants," Sobleski wrote. "Instead, things may have gotten worse.

"Hurts threw a backbreaking fourth-quarter interception. With the Eagles in the red zone and trailing by 10 points, he left a pass inside on an attempted out-route. The ensuing Cordale Flott interception set up the Giants' final touchdown, which pushed the game out of reach for Philadelphia."

Hurts and Brown have not been on the same page at all this season.

As a result, their friendship has taken a hit, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

"Brown and Hurts have a long history," Russini wrote. "High school and college friends turned NFL teammates, Hurts is the godfather to Brown's daughter, Jersee. A former teammate once described them as 'an old married couple,' but I'm told they’re not that close these days.

"Like any friendship, life happens. Family responsibilities, the grind of being pros, shifting priorities. They’re friendly, but as one Eagles player described it: 'It’s functional, professional."

Brown had six catches for 80 yards against the Giants. He has 25 catches on the season 274 yards and one touchdown.

"You just got to fix the things that you're struggling with. Learn from winning," Brown said after the Eagles-Giants game. "Right now, we're still on the other side of losing, so we have to learn from losing."

Hurts, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, has thrown for 1,172 yards and eight touchdowns on the season.

"I've got to be better," Hurts said after the game. "I take ownership for it. A lot of autonomy and a lot of opportunity there with the ball in my hands, and given those situations, I have to be wiser and more detailed with it."

The Eagles face the Minnesota Vikings next week. If they lose again, all hell could break loose in the city of Philadelphia.
