The Philadelphia Eagles have gotten off to a very slow start in NFL free agency, which shouldn't come as a huge surprise given that they do not exactly have a friendly salary cap situation.
However, the Eagles did just receive some significant NFL Draft news.
Thanks to the losses Philadelphia sustained in free agency last year, the team has been awarded with a hefty four compensatory picks for next month.
The Eagles will reap third, fourth, fifth and sixth-round selections for the departures of Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Mekhi Becton and Isaiah Rodgers, resulting in Philadelphia now owning nine total picks in this year's draft.
Philly possesses its first and second-round picks as well as a pair of third-rounders, two fourths and a couple of fifths, giving the Eagles plenty of trade ammunition.
Remember: back at the deadline, Philadelphia traded a third-round pick for edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, who played a major role in the Eagles' defensive improvement down the stretch in 2025 (Phillips has since signed with the Carolina Panthers).

Philadelphia might also add more draft picks in the event of an A.J. Brown trade, which could happen any time now.
The Eagles have some very obvious needs that must be addressed this spring, and while it's disappointing that Philly has not added anyone of significance in the first wave of free agency, there is plenty of time for Roseman to strike.
Philadelphia has been pitched as a potential destination for star defensive end Trey Hendrickson, for example, and even if the Birds don't make any truly impactful free-agent signings, Roseman is an outstanding drafter.
With all of the draft choices the Eagles have heading into April, they should absolutely be able to find a couple of key pieces to help restock a roster that is just two seasons removed from a Super Bowl victory.
We'll see if Philadelphia makes any major moves this week or if it decides to punt to next month where it could then rely on its treasure trove of draft capital.
