The Philadelphia Eagles will need to find another wide receiver if A.J. Brown departs.

While Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver called Philly "home" during a recent sitdown with Micah Parsons, it doesn't alter the possibility of a trade.

The Eagles may very well be done with Brown, who expressed displeasure with the offense throughout the entire 2025 campaign and also appears to have a rather tenuous relationship with Jalen Hurts.

And if we are being honest, even with Brown on the roster, Philadelphia doesn't have a ton at wide receiver beyond DeVonta Smith.

As a result, the Eagles might add another receiver this offseason regardless of what happens with Brown, and Benjamin Natan of Bleeding Green Nation has linked them to a rather intriguing sleeper in the fifth round of a new mock draft: Cincinnati Bearcats standout Jeff Caldwell.

"Even if AJ. Brown miraculously stays, the Eagles still need depth at wide receiver," Natan wrote. "Jeff Caldwell is, first of all, huge. At 6’5” and 215, Caldwell could immediately be a role player on the Eagles offense and give them a red zone threat to develop."

Caldwell caught 32 passes for 478 yards and six touchdowns in 2025, averaging a healthy 14.9 yards per catch.

The Louisville, Ky. native actually began his collegiate career at Lindenwood in 2022 and spent three seasons there before transferring to Cincinnati ahead of 2025.

Caldwell hauled in 52 receptions for 1,011 yards and 10 scores during his final season at Lindenwood and boasts a lifetime average of 18 yards per catch throughout his NCAA career, so there is no doubt that he is an explosive player.

This is a deep wide receiver draft class, but Caldwell could be one of the biggest sleepers on Day 3.

The Eagles haven't had a whole lot of luck with ancillary receiver options in recent years, so digging into the draft and finding a solution will be critical.

Of course, if Brown is ultimately a goner, Philadelphia will also need to find a much more proven answer elsewhere, or potentially use an early pick on a wide out. Either way, Philly should have its eye on Caldwell in the middle rounds this April.

It's also important to note that the Eagles do not have any draft picks beyond Round 5.
