After months of questions about what the Philadelphia Eagles were going to do in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, we got our answer on a Thursday night.

To start things off, the Eagles decided to move up three picks in a deal with the Dallas Cowboys, sending picks Nos 144 and 137 to Dallas in exchange for the 20th pick and a 7th-rounder.

There have also been a ton of questions about what the Eagles are going to do with AJ Brown, and it looks like this pick has solidified that situation. The Eagles have selected wide receiver Makai Lemon, a star out of the University of Southern California.

This is a very good pick from the Eagles and goes to show that Brown's time in Philadelphia is likely coming to an end sometime in the next month or so.

Lemon, who many considered one of the top wide receivers in this class, was certainly somebody worth trading up for.

It's strange that the Cowboys decided to go in that direction when they likely knew that Philadelphia was going to select him, but Jerry Jones doesn't always make the right decisions, and the Eagles continue to benefit from that.

It's a bit interesting that Howie Roseman decided to move up just three picks to select Lemon, especially when he gave up two fourths along the way. However, considering the draft is multiple days, Roseman will either have an opportunity to continue adding assets as he sees fit or go with the flow and just take what he gets.

The Eagles, perhaps more than anyone in the NFL, aren't necessarily in a position where they have to worry too much about fourth-rounders.

On the flip side of that, Roseman has continued to prove that he's very willing to do whatever it takes to get a player he wants on the board.

That was clearly the case in this situation, as he moved up just three picks and showed his aggressiveness once again. This was an excellent selection and goes to show why many believe that Roseman is one of the top executives in the NFL.
