Among the many impressive moves that the Philadelphia Eagles made throughout the offseason, there were a lot of other moves that suggested they were willing to take a chance on guys.
One of those players was Hollywood Brown, a former top-end receiver who many thought would have a chance to be an elite player in this league. Brown has dealt with some injuries and has been on multiple teams over the past few seasons, but he has a ton of talent.
He's also very fast, something the Eagles could use on the offensive side of things considering what we saw from them last year.
With the entire A.J. Brown situation, too, the Eagles were certainly trying to see what they could build on the offensive side of things by bringing in a receiver who has a lot of upside.
While we won't really know how Brown will look until the start of the season, he said some very positive things recently in an interview with the Eagles, suggesting that he's feeling better than he ever has.
"I'm faster than I've ever been. I feel like I'm playing that way, for sure," Brown said, per the team. "It's an awesome feeling. I had a Lis Franc injury in my rookie year and that is the kind of injury that is a career-ender, they say. It's cleaned out, I took some time to rest in this offseason and I'm seeing the benefits of that.
"I'm playing more freely. I'm having fun. Enjoying what we're doing out here."
If Brown is truly as fast as he's ever been, this is a very promising sign for an Eagles organization that could use help on that side of the football. He's already proven to have elite speed throughout parts of his career, and now it's really about just putting it all together.
If Philadelphia can somehow get him back to what he was during the first four years of his career, they could be finding a very good player.
