There are far worse options for the Eagles to consider.
The Philadelphia Eagles are in a position nobody expected them to be in entering the season, and they're currently one of the worst teams in football. It's unfortunate that things have gone the way they have for Philadelphia over the first couple of weeks of the season, but there's still reason to believe this team won't just give up on the year.
Ultimately, the Eagles are 2-4 and still have an opportunity to win the NFC East, despite how bad they've been. The New York Giants are in first place at 3-2-1, so there's plenty of time to figure some things out.
However, if the season ended right now, Philadelphia would at least be in a position to get a difference-maker in the NFL draft.
Philadelphia needs more talent on both sides of the ball, and adding another wide receiver might not be the worst idea.
After losing A.J. Brown and with the offense playing the way it has to start this season, the Eagles could improve on that front.
ESPN recently predicted the Eagles would take a wide receiver with pick No. 6, suggesting Charlie Becker, the wide receiver out of Indiana, could be the selection.
“Charlie Becker, WR, Indiana
“This Eagles season has not completely gone by the wayside because of the overall NFC East struggles, but it's clear this team has a lot of roster work to do in the offseason. After filling out their slot position with rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon, adding another dynamic perimeter playmaker opposite DeVonta Smith would be a big boost for the offense.
“Becker has flourished into a megastar in his first season as a full-time starter, ranking 11th nationally in receiving yards per game (99.1). He's 6-4 and 208 pounds with exceptional speed, terrific hands and a unique ability to beat man coverage on the outside,” Field Yates wrote.
Becker is a very good player in his own right, but it feels like there might be a better player available at No. 6.
Howie Roseman is in a position where he has to make the right moves in the draft going forward, which he's done at times.
Roseman hasn't had the best drafts in recent memory, but there have certainly been worse drafters. As for Becker, he has a lot of talent and could be a player of need. The only question is whether it makes sense to select a wide receiver with the sixth pick.
