The Philadelphia Eagles are ranked the sixth-best team in the NFL by ESPN heading into Week 3.

The 2-0 Philadelphia Eagles are ranked the sixth-best team in the NFL by ESPN heading into Week 3.

Philadelphia beat the Washington Commanders (0-2) in Week 1 and the Tennessee Titans (0-2) in Week 2.

The Eagles are one spot ahead of the Baltimore Ravens (1-1) and one spot behind the Los Angeles Rams (1-1) in ESPN's rankings.

Tim McManus, who covers the Eagles for ESPN, highlighted Jalen Hurts, saying the QB is "carrying this team."

"The thought heading into the season was Hurts and the passing offense would need time to acclimate to coordinator Sean Mannion's system, meaning the Eagles would have to rely on their defense and ground game early," McManus wrote. "The defense did not dominate as expected against Washington and Tennessee, while the running game has been spotty behind an offensive line still trying to find its footing. Meanwhile, Hurts led the team to a Week 1 win with three touchdowns and another victory Sunday via a go-ahead touchdown drive in the closing seconds. He is tied for second in touchdown passes (five) and ahead of schedule in this new scheme."

Hurts has 467 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, two interceptions and 62 rushing yards through two games.

The Eagles are 59-25 in the regular season with Hurts under center. They have been to two Super Bowls and won it all against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

"Jalen’s commitment to continuing to get better," Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said. "Won so many games, has been so productive, and he still is the first one to [ask], ‘What can I do better and how can I give us even a better chance to win?’ I think it speaks volumes to Jalen and his preparation and the things he works on and how he is just always, always, always searching to get better.

"I think also the more quarterbacks seen in this league and the more defenses they’ve seen, obviously that’s reps, too. You have no choice but to get better when you have the amount of reps there and they continue to accumulate there of, ‘Hey, I’ve seen this. I know my front side route’s not going to look right there. I’m going to give my eyes to that. Then I’m going to work myself back through the progression.’ I think that’s just his diligence of getting better and reps of being a six-year starter now in the NFL."

The Eagles face the Chicago Bears (1-1) in Week 3. Bears star QB Caleb Williams (hamstring) may miss the game, so Philadelphia could improve to 3-0.
