Eagles Receive Major NFL Draft News Before Playoffs cover image

The Philadelphia Eagles have received some significant NFL Draft news before the playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles' sole focus at the moment is on defeating the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs this Sunday, but that doesn't mean we still can't talk a little bit about the offseason.

That's especially when some very notable news surfaces.

Remember when the Eagles traded edge rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets back in April 2024 and reaped a future conditional third-round draft pick in return?

Well, the time has come for the pick to vest.

Philadelphia will officially land the 68th overall pick from the Jets in the 2026 NFL Draft, an incredibly high third-round draft choice in the hands of the dangerous Howie Roseman.

Of course, the pick could have been as much as a second-rounder had Reddick played in 67.5 percent of New York's defensive snaps while recording 10 sacks in 2024, but instead, the two-time Pro Bowler managed just one sack in 10 games.

Reddick then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency last offseason, but registered a grand total of 31 tackles and 2.5 sacks over 13 contests.

Clearly, the Eagles made the right decision in moving on from him after 2023.

The 31-year-old began his career with the Arizona Cardinals in 2017 and spent four seasons with the Cardinals, finally breaking out with 12 sacks in 2020.

Reddick proceeded to join the Carolina Panthers for one year in 2021, racking up 68 tackles and 11 sacks before finally linking up with Philadelphia the following year.

The Temple product enjoyed a spectacular two-year run in Philly, amassing 27 sacks over the course of those two seasons. He did, however, show considerable signs of decline during the back half of his final campaign with the Eagles, which led to his eventual departure.

Philadelphia could definitely stand to add another pass rusher this offseason, as Jalyx Hunt led the team with just 6.5 sacks in 2025.

The Eagles did add Jaelan Phillips at the trade deadline, but he is headed toward free agency, and Philadelphia does not have much cap room.

Perhaps Philly will add another edge rusher in the NFL Draft.

One thing is for sure, though: the Eagles definitely don't miss Reddick.
