This is not good. Jalen Hurts must be better.

Philadelphia Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks revealed deeply concerning news about Jalen Hurts on Tuesday (8/25).

According to Shorr-Parks, Hurts has 13 interceptions in 16 practices this year. That's far too many.

Hurts finished the 2025 season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He completed 64.8% of his passes.

Philadelphia won the NFC East last season. However, Hurts and Co. lost to the San Francisco 49ers at home in the wild-card round.

The Eagles signed Hurts to a five-year, $255 million extension in April 2023. However, there is little guaranteed money left on Hurts' deal after the 2026 season.

Hurts enters this season with 17,891 passing yards, 110 passing touchdowns, 3,554 rushing yards and 63 rushing touchdowns in his career. He's made the Pro Bowl three times and won Super Bowl LIX MVP against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles hired Sean Mannion as their new OC this offseason. Mannion is a former QB, so he's bonded well with Hurts, but it's clearly taking Hurts time to learn the new offense.

Hopefully, Hurts gets all of his interceptions out of the way now so he doesn't turn the ball over in the regular season. The Eagles open the 2026 season at home against the Washington Commanders. All eyes will be on Hurts and Mannion to see how they do in their first real game together.

Even though Hurts is struggling in camp, the Eagles are "really happy" with how open the QB has been to Mannion's offensive changes.

"They're really happy with how open he's been to the changes, taking under-center work, play action, ball fakes, all that stuff," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Saturday's SportsCenter regarding Hurts. "He's really taken to the footwork part of it; got to work early in the offseason. He and Sean Mannion have hit it off in that way.

"Now, they had a joint practice with the Patriots for two days. The sentiment was it was a little up and down; first day was a little bit rough. That was to be expected because a lot of the receivers had been out. De'Vonta Smith had a hamstring issue, missed multiple weeks. First-round pick Makai Lemon, hamstring, missed multiple weeks. They're finally getting healthy and back into the swing. Hurts doesn't really play in preseason games, so it's expected to be a bit of a bumpy road as they get the offense in full swing. They're hoping by Week 1 they're full strength and then the running game is going to be big. The sentiment there is that with Saquon Barkley getting back to those 20-, 30-yard runs, that will set the stage for Hurts to have a big year."
