Jon Conahan and Anthony Moeglin of the Roundtable Sports Eagles podcast discussed all of the latest news surrounding Philadelphia. It was an intriguing week for the Philadelphia Eagles, and some of the moves they made were obvious needs.

We both discussed the idea of adding Jaelan Phillips, arguably one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, when healthy.

While the Eagles were a clear destination for Phillips, and were searching for an edge rusher over the past few months, it remained uncertain who they were going to go after. Eventually, they landed on the Miami Dolphins player, who is very good, despite the injury concerns and upcoming contract situation.

Perhaps more important than any move the Eagles made, keeping A.J. Brown was just as important as anything else. Brown is among the top 10 wide receivers in the NFL, which Moeglin and I agreed on.

However, given some of his past comments to the media and on social media, it was possible that something might’ve happened.

Regardless, the Eagles decided to keep him on the roster, and both of us agree with that, given how good he is and the team looking to win another Super Bowl after winning it all a year ago.

We also spoke briefly about Jaire Alexander, a cornerback they acquired in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens for a late-round pick. Alexander certainly isn't what he once was.

However, Moeglin had some interesting thoughts about him on the roster, stating that if he can even make one or two big plays when it matters most for this Philadelphia defense, it's a deal that made sense for the Eagles.

As we look ahead, the Dallas Cowboys are about the only team in the NFC East that has any chance of catching the Eagles, even though it seems very unlikely at the moment.

Sitting with just three wins right now, Moeglin and I both questioned why they decided to go after Quinnen Williams and give up a first-round pick.

We also spoke a bit about the upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers, which we believe is a decent spot for the Eagles to prove that they're still the best team in the NFC, despite many suggesting that the Packers were the best team entering the season.
