The Philadelphia Eagles have been faced with reports about unrest within their locker room over the past couple of years. Most of those rumors have had to do with star wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Brown has been very clear about his frustration with the team. He has demonstrated plenty of his dramatics on the field, including reading a book during the middle of a game on the sideline.
Much of the drama has been connected to the relationship between Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Neither player seems to like the other. They also haven't been able to put their dislike aside for the good of the team.
That being said, a new reality check has been handed to the Eagles about the two star players.
During a segment of "First Take," Stephen A. Smith spoke out with his thoughts on the situation. He doesn't think Brown believes in Hurts as a quarterback.
“I don’t believe that A.J. Brown believes in Jalen Hurts," Smith said clearly.
Last season, Brown ended up caching 79 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. He's still one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL. Sadly, it seems likely barring a major change that he will be on his way out of town this offseason.
As for Hurts, the 27-year-old quarterback completed 64.8 percent of his passes for 3,224 yards, 25 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also picked up 421 yards and scored eight touchdowns on the ground.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Philadelphia. However, it's clear after watching the Eagles get quickly eliminated at home in the Wild Card round of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers that something needs to change.
Philadelphia has the talent to win another Super Bowl. Both Hurts and Brown are a big part of that talent. If they can't coexist on the Eagles, general manager Howie Roseman will have to make a tough decision.
Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Philadelphia franchise as the offseason picks up speed. Brown will continue being a key fixture of the NFL rumor mill and it wouldn't be surprising to see him playing elsewhere in 2026.
