Eagles Star Blasts Critics for Disrespect With Playoffs Looming cover image

This Philadelphia Eagles star is growing tired of seeing his team disrespected.

The Philadelphia Eagles topped the Buffalo Bills by a score of 13-12 for their third straight win this past Sunday, and while it wasn't pretty, the Eagles were still able to cobble together another victory against a strong opponent.

In spite of the fact that Philadelphia was able to topple a hungry Bills team, there are still many who believe that the Eagles are in some trouble because of their inconsistent offense, which failed to complete pass during the second half against Buffalo for the second time this season.

As for the critics? Philadelphia offensive tackle Jordan Mailata — who has been very vocal all year long — is growing tired of them and couldn't resist taking a shot at them following the win.

"For me, perspective-wise, I just don't like when we're not considered a heavyweight and we're like, 'Oh, you guys have to match them.' That pisses me off," Mailata told reporters. "I think we deserve a little respect. Just a little bit, a little consideration."

But here's the thing: the Eagles have been getting respect. The only reason why they have been completely written off is because they won the Super Bowl last year and have been to the Super Bowl twice over the last three seasons, so people are still giving them a chance.

Otherwise, there has not been a whole lot to like about Philadelphia in 2025.

Jalen Hurts has been all over the place, Saquon Barkley looks like a shell of himself and the offensive line — which was arguably the best unit in the league last season — has fallen off a cliff.

There is no question that Philly's defense has displayed vast improvement as the season has progressed, but the offense is another story entirely.

A.J. Brown said earlier in the season that the Eagles wouldn't be able to win in the playoffs with the way the offense had been playing, and it has shown little to no signs of growth ever since.

Brown himself has been targeted more, but as a whole, Philadelphia's offense has labored and ranks just 24th in the NFL heading into the team's regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders.

Mailata can complain about perceived disrespect all he wants, but there is a very clear reason why fans and pundits are down on the Eagles this season.
