Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter is a stud.
Not only did Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter make the NFL Top 100 Players list again, but he also went up 14 spots.
In 2025, Carter was at No. 43. This year, he's at No. 29.
The Eagles signed Carter to a four-year, $152 million extension worth up to $160 million, including $106 million guaranteed, that now makes him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history. Philadelphia selected Carter with the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Carter has 13.5 sacks, 66 solo tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 37 QB hits in 43 NFL games. He made the Pro Bowl in 2024 and 2025 and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl during the 2024 season against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carter's 83 pass-rush wins as an interior lineman since 2023 are tied for the seventh most in the NFL. He's one of the best players in the league and the Eagles made the right move by signing him to an extension.
“I don't really think the money is ever gonna change me,” Carter said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. "When you get picked in the first round and you’re a top-10 pick, you kind of get a little bit of decent money. And that didn't change me. I still came in, I had a goal, let the team know and the fans know that the goal was to get a championship. And it happened. But it's a new contract and it's time to get more championships for the city of Philly."
Philadelphia won the NFC East again last season, but the San Francisco 49ers beat the Eagles in the wild-card round of the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles do in 2026.
“The responsibility, it's a lot, but I'm just staying humble and being calm," Carter said. "I'm not letting it overhype me or anything like that. I still gotta come out here every day ... and work. My main focus after this (interview), I'm gonna watch film. We're gonna get right in there. We're gonna worry about what we can do tomorrow to get better.”
The Eagles open the 2026 season against the Washington Commanders. Carter will look to make life difficult for Jayden Daniels.
