Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley will miss some time with a hamstring injury.
Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley is week-to-week with a hamstring injury that he suffered in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams.
This is a major loss for the Eagles' offense, as Barkley is one of the best running backs in the league. Philadelphia has struggled to establish the run game early in the season, and with Barkley and backup running back Tank Bigsby out, it will be a challenge for the Eagles to get into a rhythm on offense.
Through four games, Barkley has rushed for 182 yards on 36 carries. The 29-year-old has been an impactful weapon in Philadelphia's offense ahead of the 2024 season. In 2024, he won the Offensive Player of the Year, rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns, along with 33 receptions for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
He played well again in 2025, rushing for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns while catching 37 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns.

Across his three years in the league, the 24-year-old rushed for 182 yards on 59 carries while catching 17 receptions for 115 yards.
The 2024 fourth-round pick is taking on the starting running back role and will need to play well for the offense to get going. Philadelphia will also need more out of the passing attack despite not having a ton of depth in the receiver room.
DeVonta Smith missed Week 4 with an injury, and tight end Dallas Goedert remains out with an injury. Dontayvion Wicks has been solid in his first season with the Eagles, with 12 receptions for 197 yards and a touchdown through four games.
Rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon hasn't had much of an impact thus far, with 10 catches for 65 yards.
Philadelphia will need more from their entire offseason to win after back-to-back losses to the Chicago Bears and Rams. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has completed 59.6 percent of his passes for 713 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions, along with rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles have a difficult matchup in Week 5 against one of the best teams in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their offense will need to take a major leap, despite the injuries, to have a chance to improve to 3-2.
