The Philadelphia Eagles are sending a Pro Bowl offensive lineman to the Baltimore Ravens in a trade.
The Philadelphia Eagles offensive line is making another change after star right tackle Lane Johnson retired earlier this week. The Eagles are now sending Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.
Jurgens was a Pro Bowler in the 2024 and 2025 seasons and was a key piece of the dominant offensive line that helped Philadelphia win the Super Bowl in 2024.
The 27-year-old is inked to a four-year, $68 million deal, which keeps him under contract through the 2029 season.
This trade suggests the Eagles may be willing to accept that they aren't contenders this season. The offense has struggled mightily, and they have now lost two of their best offensive linemen.
With Jurgens and Johnson out, Philadelphia will likely turn to 2025 fifth-round pick Drew Kendall as the starting center and 2026 third-round pick Markel Bell as the starting right tackle.

They have struggled to establish the run, with Saquon Barkley rushing for 182 yards on 36 carries. Barkley is now dealing with an injury, and their backup, Tank Bigsby, was just placed on the injured reserve.
The Eagles will now lean on Will Shipley as their starting running back, and he faces a tough task behind a new offensive line. Shipley has 51 yards on 15 carries through the first four games of the season.
The passing attack hasn't been much better for Philadelphia, as Jalen Hurts has completed 59.6 percent of his passes for 713 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions while rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles' weapons have taken a hit as well after they traded away AJ Brown in the offseason. Dontayvion Wicks has been a solid pickup, as he has 12 receptions for 197 yards and a touchdown. However, rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon hasn't had much of an impact, with 10 receptions for 65 yards.
Philadelphia entered the season looking to be a contender in the NFC and compete for a division title. They are still in the mix to win the NFC East, but the trade of Jurgens signals that the Eagles are accepting that they won't be Super Bowl contenders this season and are taking on future draft capital to add more young pieces in the upcoming drafts.
