Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been the subject of recent trade speculation following the Eagles' decision to sign fellow interior defender Jordan Davis to a massive contract extension.
Carter is up for a new deal this offseason, but with Davis getting $78 million over three years, many have wondered if Philadelphia will pay big money to two defensive tackles.
However, Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP doesn't seem concerned about Carter and thinks that the Eagles will ultimately re-sign him.
"I think it'll happen this offseason," Shorr-Parks said. "I think it could happen any day. ... They want to re-sign Jalen Carter."
Given the amount of money Davis landed, you have to assume the Carter will net an even more lucrative deal, and Shorr-Parks said that Carter surely believes he "deserves a substantial amount more" than what Davis got.
However, he does not think that will stop Philadelphia from striking a deal with the 24-year-old.
"They will absolutely pay him," Shorr-Parks added. "It's a matter of when; not if."

The University of Georgia product then made his first Pro Bowl in 2024 after recording 42 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 16 quarterback hits and six passes defended.
Carter was named a Pro Bowler once again in 2025, although most would agree that he definitely took a bit of a step back this past season.
In spite of Carter coming off of a down year, he remains one of the top defensive tackles in the league and would surely command a massive trade package if the Eagles ultimately did decide to move him.
But it looks like Philadelphia is aiming to keep the Apopka, Fl. native.
Now, the Eagles need to get busy in free agency, as they have lost a bunch of key players but have yet to make any truly impactful moves.
We'll see if Philadelphia strikes on Day 2 of the free-agent period on Tuesday.
