A former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowler explained how the team can trade for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.
In the wake of the Philadelphia Eagles' interest in trading for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby, a former Eagles Pro Bowler explained how Philly can land Crosby.
Ike Reese, who played for the Eagles from 1998 to 2004, said Philadelphia should offer the Raiders Nolan Smith and a first-round pick for Crosby.
"Here's what I would do there. Not Jalen Carter. I want to see Maxx Crosby play with Jalen Carter. That's what I want to see. I want to see Maxx Crosby, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Jonathan Greenard, that's a four right there," Reese stated on 94WIP.
"If you want to trade Nolan Smith to the Raiders for Maxx Crosby. Here's what I would do: I would go Nolan Smith and a first-round pick. The pick they just got for AJ, I'd give them the first-round pick they got for 2028 and Nolan Smith."
Las Vegas traded Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens this offseason, but the Ravens backed out because they had medical concerns about the pass-rusher's knee.
Crosby has said he's happy to be back with the Raiders, but the team could revisit trade offers if it goes into sell mode near the 2026 midseason deadline.
The Eagles need to replace Jaelan Phillips, who joined the Carolina Panthers. It appears Philadelphia wants to pair Jalen Carter with Crosby. That would be lethal.
Crosby would take the Eagles' defense to another level. The talented defender is arguably the second-best pass rusher in the NFL behind Myles Garrett. Crosby had 10 sacks in 2025 for the Raiders despite playing on a torn meniscus.
The 28-year-old Crosby has been in the NFL since 2019. He has 69.5 sacks, 278 solo tackles, 133 tackles for loss and 164 QB hits in 110 games.
Philadelphia lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round of the 2026 playoffs, one year after beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The Eagles already made one big trade, sending A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots.
The Eagles' defense finished fifth in the NFL in scoring defense last season, giving up only 19.1 points per game. Philadelphia's 56.8% completion percentage allowed led the league, while its 75.4 passer rating ranked second.
It will be interesting to see if the Eagles trade for Crosby, who doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract. Philadelphia would arguably have the best defense in the NFL if Crosby joined Carter, Jonathan Greenard, Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell.
