Philadelphia Eagles stars Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown haven't been on the same page all season.

A former Philadelphia Eagles star knows something else is going on between QB Jalen Hurts and WR A.J. Brown.

DeSean Jackson told Clinton Portis he can't say what's going on between Hurts and Brown but that something is there behind the scenes.

"I can't say it, but I know it's something else going on," Jackson said. "That it's not all about football. It's not about X's and O's. I've had situationships with quarterbacks that I didn't necessarily like. And I'ma just be honest. And when it ain't there, it sticks out like a sore thumb. That's all I'ma say."

NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported in October that Hurts and Brown are "not that close these days." The Eagles are 8-2, but Brown has been frustrated with the offense all season long.

"Brown and Hurts have a long history," Russini wrote. "High school and college friends turned NFL teammates, Hurts is the godfather to Brown's daughter, Jersee. A former teammate once described them as 'an old married couple,' but I'm told they’re not that close these days.

"Like any friendship, life happens. Family responsibilities, the grind of being pros, shifting priorities. They’re friendly, but as one Eagles player described it: 'It’s functional, professional."

Brown has 38 catches for 457 yards and three touchdowns on the season. There are many people around the NFL who believe the Eagles will trade Brown this offseason. The WR has been a major distraction, both on and off the field.

Hurts looked Browns way a lot against the Detroit Lions, targeting the WR 11 times. Brown had seven catches for 49 yards, but the Eagles scored only 16 points.

"We want to be better than what we were tonight, but every game's played a little bit differently," Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said. "The way the game is played sometimes is dictated (by) what's happening in the game. Make no mistake about it, our goal in every single game is to come out with a win, period. Sometimes, the game's played a little bit differently in that, and we were able to get a 10-point lead. Every game is played to win, but do we have to clean up things on offense? Of course we do."

Even if the Eagles win the Super Bowl again this season, don't be surprised if Brown is on a new team in 2026.
