The Eagles' offense is good, but there's more to be had.
On paper, the Philadelphia Eagles' offense looks above average.
We can go down a long list of guys we should trust, including Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and an offensive line that, while banged up, is still one of the better units in the league when healthy.
However, for a Super Bowl-contending team like Philadelphia, it's never unfair to suggest that it has to continue improving day in and day out.
Whether that means making the right decisions in practice, giving certain guys more of an opportunity to play, or making trades, the Eagles are always looking to improve.
There are going to be multiple ways for them to do so before this year's NFL trade deadline, and Bleacher Report recently brought up one name who I think could be an excellent option to pursue, even if the price is a little high.
That player is Jerry Jeudy of the Cleveland Browns, who is arguably stuck in one of the worst situations in the NFL.
“Boston and Concepcion became the focal point of the Browns' passing attack in Week 1, as Jeudy finished with just two catches for 26 yards on four targets. The 2024 Pro Bowler is unlikely to regain his status as a No. 1 target in Cleveland. However, Jeudy is still only 27 years old and has a contract that should appeal to 2026 contenders in need of receiver help—he has a base salary of only $1.5 million.
“Given the injuries we've already seen at the position, Jeudy should have a deadline market if the Browns are reasonable with their asking price,” Kristopher Knox wrote.
It’s not to say that Jeudy absolutely hates Cleveland and wants to get out of an organization that's been one of the worst in the NFL over the past couple of decades, but having an opportunity to play for a contending team like Philadelphia should interest him.
Jeudy would also finally have a quarterback he can trust to get him the football, something that hasn't been the case in Cleveland with Deshaun Watson.
It'll be interesting to see what direction the Browns want to go in over the next couple of months, but they do have some players who could perform well in the Eagles' offensive and defensive systems.
