Jalen Hurts Dooms Eagles in 22-19 Loss to Chargers cover image

The Philadelphia Eagles lost their third straight game, losing to the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.

Heading into the Philadelphia Eagles' Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, Jalen Hurts and company badly need to get back in the win column.

In their two games leading up to tonight's showdown, the Eagles had lost to both the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. With an 8-4 record, things felt like they were starting to slip away.

All season long, there have been rumors about unrest in the Philadelphia locker room. The team has looked disjointed on the field. That continued against the Chargers.

Hurts put together one of the worst performances of his NFL career en route to a 22-19 overtime loss to Los Angeles. In fact, he threw the game-losing interception as the Eagles neared the Chargers' end zone.

When all was said and done, Hurts completed just 21 of his 40 pass attempts for 240 yards, no touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also lost a fumble, finishing with five total turnovers.

Following the loss, Philadelphia drops to 8-5 on the season. The Eagles still control the NFC East, but the Cowboys have more life tonight than they had after losing to the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football to begin Week 14.

Saquon Barkley led the way for the Philadelphia offense, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. A.J. Brown also had a big game, catching six passes for 100 yards, while Dallas Goedert chipped in with eight receptions for 78 yards.

There are no positives to take away from tonight's loss for the Eagles. They're in trouble. They look like a fish out of water trying to come together as a team.

Philadelphia has entered dangerous territory. Just like 2023, this season feels like it could slip away from the Eagles if they're not careful.

On the other side of the field, Justin Herbert completed 12 of his 26 passes for 139 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. The Chargers did not come through with a good performance, Philadelphia just played worse. It's just the latest in a long line of disappointments this season.

Next up for the Eagles will be a crucial Week 15 matchup at home against the Las Vegas Raiders. It's a game they should win, but if they don't things could get really ugly.
