NFL Analyst Ranks 7 RBs Ahead of Philadelphia Eagles Star Saquon Barkley

NFL analyst Pete Prisco of CBS Sports believes there are seven RBs better than Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley.

Prisco ranked Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey, Jahmyr Gibbs, Jonathan Taylor, James Cook, De'Von Achane and Derrick Henry ahead of Barkley.

"Like many Eagles players, Barkley's 2025 season wasn't nearly as good as his 2024 campaign," His rushing yards fell from 2,005 to 1,440, and his yards per carry dropped from 5.8 to 4.1. The poor line play contributed to those declines."

Barkley had 1,140 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns in 2025. The three-time Pro Bowler put up 2,005 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in his first season with the Eagles in 2024.

Sean Mannion is the new OC for the Eagles. He's replacing Kevin Patullo, who was fired after just one season.

The Eagles won the NFC East last season. However, they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2026 playoffs' wild-card round at home.

It will be fascinating to see how Philadelphia's offense performs with Mannion calling plays. Barkley looked like the best player in the NFL during the 2024 season. He came back down to earth in 2025.

The QB spot is the most important position in the NFL, so if Jalen Hurts plays well next season, the Eagles should be fine. However, if Hurts struggles, Philadelphia will be in trouble.

Hurts finished the 2025 season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He completed 64.8% of his passes.

Hurts enters next season with 17,891 passing yards, 110 passing touchdowns, 3,554 rushing yards and 63 rushing touchdowns in his career. He's made the Pro Bowl three times and won Super Bowl LIX MVP.
