The Eagles improved to 8-2 on the season after beating the Lions at home on Sunday Night Football.
Philadelphia won by a final score of 16-9 and one NFL analyst believes WR A.J. Brown was the biggest "winner" from the game.
"Brown has consistently expressed frustration with his role on offense," Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report wrote. "The wideout's criticisms went viral before the team's Week 11 outing. He met with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie about his gripes.
"Brown didn't break out with a strong stat line, but he saw a season-high 11 targets, which was more than twice as many as any other Eagles pass-catcher. Jalen Hurts may have seen a favorable matchup against the Lions' vulnerable secondary.
"Regardless, Brown can't complain about his role or target share from this game. He recorded seven catches for 49 yards, but the three-time Pro Bowler was the focal point of the passing attack."
Unless you have been living under a rock this season, you know that Brown has not been happy with his production, role and the Eagles' offense as a whole. After the Lions game, Brown now has 38 catches for 457 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
Jalen Hurts looked Browns way a lot against the Lions, targeting the WR 11 times. Brown had seven catches for 49 yards, but the Eagles scored only 16 points.
“We want to be better than what we were tonight, but every game’s played a little bit differently,” Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said. “The way the game is played sometimes is dictated (by) what’s happening in the game. Make no mistake about it, our goal in every single game is to come out with a win, period. Sometimes, the game’s played a little bit differently in that, and we were able to get a 10-point lead. Every game is played to win, but do we have to clean up things on offense? Of course we do.”
There are many people around the NFL who believe the Eagles will trade Brown this offseason. The WR has been a major distraction, both on and off the field.
