Following the 2025 NFL season, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was once again brought up as a potential head coaching hot seat candidate.
After making the playoffs, the Eagles were quickly defeated at home in the Wild Card by the San Francisco 49ers. That didn't sit well with the fan base.
Sirianni has been viewed as one of the top up-and-coming head coaches in the NFL at times. In other moments, he has been viewed as someone who could be looking for another job in the near future. At this point in time, there is no telling what the future holds for him.
With that being said, a new update has been revealed about his future in Philadelphia.
As shared by NFL insider Jason La Canfora, one anonymous general manager believes that Sirianni will be coaching for his job during the 2026 NFL season.
"Sirianni has to know his job is on the line with this (offensive coordinator) hire," the general manager said. "Doug Pederson was out of there a couple of years after winning their first Super Bowl. Howie and Jeffrey will do whatever they think they have to do. Everything is always on the table."
Needless to say, that will put some address pressure on Sirianni and the Eagles to play well next season. If things aren't satisfactory, Philadelphia won't hesitate to make a move.
Since taking over as the Eagles' head coach back in 2021, Sirianni has led the team to a 59-26 record. He has made the playoffs in all five years, won a Super Bowl in 2024, and led Philadelphia to another Super Bowl back in 2022 when the team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Many head coaches with that record wouldn't be facing hot seat rumors. It's just another sign of how aggressive the Eagles are when things aren't going right.
Expect to continue hearing rumors and rumblings about Sirianni's job status in Philadelphia. Heading into the 2026 season, there will be a clear expectation of being a Super Bowl contender. Should the Eagles fall short of that goal, Sirianni could find himself on his way out of town.
