The Philadelphia Eagles made the right move.

The Philadelphia Eagles have fired OC Kevin Patullo.

The Eagles replaced Kellen Moore with Patullo and struggled on offense all season.

Moore left the Eagles to become the head coach of the New Orleans Saints last offseason.

"I have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator," Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said in a statement. "I met with Kevin today to discuss the difficult decision, as he is a great coach who has my utmost respect. He has been integral to this team's success over the last five years, not only to the on-field product but behind the scenes as a valued leader for our players and organization. I have no doubt he will continue to have a successful coaching career. Ultimately, when we fall short of our goals that responsibility lies on my shoulders."

Under Patullo, the Eagles ranked 23rd in the NFL in passing yards and 18th in rushing yards.

QB Jalen Hurts finished with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns in the regular season, but Philly was 19th in points per game under Patullo. They were seventh in scoring last season under Moore and won the Super Bowl against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round of the 2026 NFL playoffs by a final score of 23-19.

A day after the Eagles lost to the 49ers, Hurts declined to comment about Patullo being back as his OC.

"It's too soon to think about that," Hurts said. "I put my trust in Howie. Howie, Nick and Mr. Lurie."

It will be interesting to see who the Eagles hire as their new OC. The front office should keep Hurts involved in the process.

"My line is always open," Hurts said.
