Could the Philadelphia Eagles pull off this blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs?

The Philadelphia Eagles just completed a very disappointing season, falling to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Now, they enter an offseason full of massive question marks, and it's entirely possible their roster could look very different in 2026.

One area of need for the Eagles is at cornerback, where they have Quinyon Mitchell, but really no other reliable option on the other side.

Philadelphia could address the issue via the NFL Draft, but the Eagles could also pursue a proven veteran in the coming months.

On that note, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has named Kansas City Chiefs star Trent McDuffie as a potential trade option for Philadelphia.

McDuffie is preparing to enter the final year of his contract, and with the Chiefs not having the friendliest financial situation, they may have to trade him.

The former first-round pick played in 13 games this season, registering 63 tackles, a sack, an interception and seven passes defended.

When healthy, McDuffie is one of the better cornerbacks in football, as evidenced by the fact that he earned back-to-back All-Pro selections in 2023 and 2024. He was named a First-Team All-Pro in the former campaign after totaling 80 tackles, three picks, seven passes defended and five forced fumbles.

Even in a relatively down year this past season, McDuffie still managed a 74.7 coverage grade at Pro Football Focus, which placed him 17th among 114 cornerbacks.

The price to acquire the 25-year-old would likely be steep, especially after the New York Jets bagged a pair of first-round picks in exchange for Sauce Gardner back at the trade deadline.

But for an Eagles team that is in win-now mode, moving some draft capital in exchange for a top defensive back in McDuffie may not be the worst idea in the world.

Philadelphia's defense was terrific for much of 2025, but there is no question that the Eagles struggled in coverage at different points of the year thanks to their issues at corner.

Of course, Philly may prefer to pursue more affordable options than McDuffie, especially considering that the University of Washington product would require a contract extension.
