As the Philadelphia Eagles look ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft, one of the most important questions surrounding the roster comes in a position that hasn’t been an issue in a long time.

With Dallas Goedert potentially set to leave in free agency, Philadelphia could be facing an interesting decision at a position that matters a ton. In Pro Football Focus’ latest mock draft, Dalton Wasserman predicted that the Eagles will address that need directly by selecting tight end Kenyon Sadiq with the No. 23 overall pick.

“Philadelphia may allow Dallas Goedert to leave in free agency, creating a significant void at tight end,” he wrote. “The Eagles could look to fill that need with the uber-athletic Kenyon Sadiq. Sadiq’s 560 receiving yards ranked eighth among FBS tight ends this season, and he led the position with eight touchdown receptions.”

Goedert has been an important piece of the Eagles’ offense for years, playing as a reliable target and someone who can help Jalen Hurts out. However, if Philadelphia decides not to pay him, it absolutely has to go out and find someone who can replace him.

At the college level, Sadiq was one of the most dynamic tight ends in the country and was a big piece to what Oregon did on the offensive side of the football.

Sadiq’s build also shows that he can be a very good player if the tools continue to develop.

For a team built to win next year, drafting a tight end in the first round might not be the best idea, but if the offense is lacking at the position, and with how bad it looked last year, I’d like the pick.

The Eagles have consistently shown a willingness to plan ahead rather than wait until the last minute. Letting Goedert walk while already having a plan in place would be something that Howie Roseman has done.

There’s a lot of stuff to consider for the Eagles during the draft process. There probably isn’t a right or wrong answer, as long as Roseman does what he usually does, but we’ll see what he decides on.
