The Philadelphia Eagles definitely need to make some changes this offseason after a nightmarish second half of 2025 that concluded with a Wild Card Round playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Following the Eagles' postseason exit, many felt the team's first order of business this spring would be to trade wide receiver A.J. Brown, who griped throughout the entire campaign and dropped four passes in the defeat against the 49ers.
However, it's looking more and more like Philadelphia might hold on to Brown.
Why? Because no team will be willing to give the Eagles what they would want in return for the three-time Pro Bowler.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated has reported that there is a clear disconnect between what Philadelphia is seeking for Brown and what rival clubs would actually be amenable to offering for the star playmaker.
"It sounds like the Eagles would want a first-round pick and another top-100 selection (similar to what the Packers got for Davante Adams in 2022), and that’s going to be too much for most, if not all, teams," Breer wrote. "Some of those teams, conversely, see Brown’s value as being closer to what the Bills got for Stefon Diggs from Houston in ’24 (a second-rounder, plus a Day 3 pick-swap that favored Buffalo)."

Unless general manager Howie Roseman really wants to unload the 28-year-old (which is a possibility), a Diggs-like trade package would probably be a nonstarter for him.
Brown caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025 thanks to a late-season surge that featured three straight 100-yard performances between Weeks 12 and 14. But issues with Brown were obvious.
The Ole Miss product criticized Philly's offense at various points of the year, and it seemed pretty clear that his relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts was not great.
Brown was also accused of not giving full effort and was seen appearing to give up on his routes in numerous instances.
The Eagles originally acquired Brown in a trade with the Tennessee Titans back in April 2022 and watched him post back-to-back 1,400-yard campaigns to begin his Philadelphia tenure, but his production has slipped since.
We'll see if there are any further developments on the Brown front as we get deeper into the offseason.
