The Philadelphia Eagles have spent the last few seasons building something special, but this past year was far from perfect.
There were many reasons for that, and I think we all know one of them.
According to a report from Joseph Santoliquito, one of the Eagles’ biggest stars expressed frustration throughout the 2025 season and requested a trade.
Multiple sources told Bleeding Green Nation that wide receiver A.J. Brown asked to be traded multiple times during the season, with those conversations starting a lot earlier than most would’ve expected.
“A.J. Brown asked for a trade numerous times this past season (as early as after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3), multiple sources confirmed to Bleeding Green Nation. Brown is coming off his worst season as a pro since 2021, when he caught a career-lows with 63 passes for 869 yards and five touchdowns. This season, he caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards, his lowest output since 2021,” he wrote.
The Brown stuff adds a different problem to what was already a horrible year for Philadelphia’s offense.
For a player who has been the best offensive pass catcher in the Eagles’ offense, it’s tough to see him have such a poor year and complain as much as he did. When a player of his caliber goes multiple games without much to show for it, frustration is fair, but he shouldn’t complain to the media as he did.
From the organization’s standpoint, I think it’s more than time to move on from Brown. At some point, enough has to be enough. There were sideline altercations, social media posts, and shots at his teammates to the media.
The Eagles might trade him, but Howie Roseman spoke about it recently and it didn’t sound like a guarantee.
“It is hard to find great players in the NFL, and A.J. is a great player. I think from my perspective, that’s what we’re going out and looking for when we go out here in free agency, in the draft, just trying to find great players who love football, and he’s that guy.”
