The Philadelphia Eagles are interested in signing a Pro Bowler.

According to Eliot Shorr-Parks, the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in signing veteran TE David Njoku.

Njoku is an unrestricted free agent and will not return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Browns selected Njoku with the 29th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Miami. Njoku appeared in 118 games with Cleveland. He caught 384 balls for 4,062 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Cleveland made the playoffs twice in the Njoku era. The 29-year-old made the Pro Bowl in the 2023 season. He had 81 catches for 882 yards and six touchdowns that campaign.

The Browns went 44-73-1 in the Njoku era. Njoku had 33 receptions for 293 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Cleveland is in deep rebuild mode. Njoku is better suited to play for a playoff contender at this stage of his career. It will be fascinating to see if the Eagles can agree to a contract with the playmaker.

Dallas Goedert, who is an unrestricted free agent, is not expected to return to the Eagles. Goedert finished the 2025 season with 60 receptions for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has spent his entire NFL career with the Eagles.

If Goedert does leave the Eagles, don't be surprised if Njoku replaces him.

Philadelphia lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round of the 2026 NFL playoffs. Kevin Patullo was fired as OC after just one season. He was replaced by Sean Mannion, who worked with the Green Bay Packers last season.

For the Eagles to win another Super Bowl, Mannion has to work well with QB Jalen Hurts, who finished with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 2025. Hurts and Patullo didn't have a good relationship.

Under Patullo, scoring dropped from 27.2 (ranked seventh) to 22.3 (19th) points per game; offensive efficiency dipped from fourth best in the league to 19th; and the rushing attack plummeted from 179 yards per game (2nd) to 116.9 (18th).
