Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown could get traded this offseason.

A Super Bowl contender is expected to pursue a trade for Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown this offseason.

Chad Graff of The Athletic reports that the New England Patriots will be active in trade discussions for Brown, who was coached by Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel on the Tennessee Titans.

"That’s another reason one league source expects the Patriots to be active in trade discussions for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown," Graff wrote. "It seems doubtful New England would give up its first-round pick for Brown, who turns 29 this summer. But at the right price, Brown would fit what the Patriots are looking for.

"So if the Patriots do cut Stefon Diggs, expect them to kick the tires on Evans or Pierce and potentially pivot to either trading for Brown or drafting a wide receiver early."

Brown had 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2025 regular season. He and QB Jalen Hurts weren't on the same page.

During the Eagles' wild-card round loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Nick Sirianni and Brown got into a heated sideline exchange. The Eagles lost to the 49ers at home by a final score of 23-19. Brown had two drops, tying a career high, and declined to speak to the media postgame.

Brown finished the Eagles-49ers game with three catches for 25 yards on seven targets. Philadelphia fans booed him after his second drop in the fourth quarter.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Brown has been with the Eagles since 2022. He has 339 receptions for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns in a Philadelphia uniform.

The Eagles would absorb a dead cap hit of over $40 million if they dealt Brown before June 1, compared with less than $20 million in dead cap if a trade is consummated after that date.

The team acquiring Brown would be responsible for his $29 million salary in 2026 and around $4 million in guaranteed money in 2027, per ESPN

If the Eagles trade Brown, most people around the NFL expect the Patriots to acquire the controversial playmaker. Let's see if it happens.
