A Super Bowl champion took a dig at Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.

A former NFL star and one-time Super Bowl champion recently took a shot at Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David said Hurts was never a guy the Buccaneers' defense worried about when they faced the Eagles.

"Jalen Hurts was never a guy we worried about," David said on The Arena podcast. "Our game plan was always because they have a great offensive line stopping the run."

Hurts finished the 2025 season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 421 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He completed 64.8% of his passes.

The Eagles won the NFC East again. However, they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the 2026 playoffs' wild-card round.

The Eagles signed Hurts to a five-year, $255 million extension in April 2023. There is little guaranteed money left in Hurts' deal after the 2026 season.

Hurts will be coached by Sean Mannion next season. Philadelphia hired the Green Bay Packers QB coach as its new OC after parting ways with Kevin Patullo.

Hurts and WR A.J. Brown used to be best friends. However, that is no longer the case and the Eagles could trade Brown this offseason.

It will be fascinating to see how Hurts and the Eagles perform next season. Hurts is under major pressure to play well despite winning a Super Bowl.

In a story called "Inside Eagles' 2025 friction as Jalen Hurts stands at crossroads," Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN interviewed more than a dozen sources to pull back the curtain on what's ailing an Eagles offense full of notable talent and Hurts was ripped several times.

"Poor body language, not always bought in, not the most coachable and the players notice," a team source said.
