The modern NFL offense is heavily predicated on the passing game now, and without a legitimate star WR on your team, it's tough to find success. A legitimate WR1 can completely alter an entire offense, and with AJ Brown, that's exactly what the Philadelphia Eagles have.
Philly also boasts a litany of other elite skill players like Saquon Barkley and Davonta Smith on offense, but in the passing game, AJ Brown is undoubtedly the alpha.
Last season for Brown and the Eagles was far from a perfect union. It seemed that every other week, there was some issue between the two parties centered on Brown not being pleased with his utilization in the offense.
To be honest, while not beneficial to the team, his frustrations are fairly warranted. Brown has a 1000+ yard wide receiver every year of his career outside of his last season in Tennessee, where he only played 13 games.
Now that we're in the offseason, rumors of Brown being traded have been circulating, frankly, from the moment they were eliminated. While it's still unclear whether or not the soon-to-be 8th-year WR will be moved, the Eagles' asking price for Brown has officially been revealed.

Mandatory Credit: Kevin Jairaj-Imagn ImagesTeams have been reaching out to Philadelphia regarding Brown this offseason, but to no avail. With the news of what they're asking, it makes sense that he hasn't been moved to this point.
It was reported today by Mike Garafolo that the Eagles are asking interested teams for a trade haul similar to what the Jets received for DT Quinnen Williams. That would be a first and second round pick at a minimum to start the conversation.
This makes all the sense in the world for Howie Roseman and the Eagles. Not only is AJ Brown one of the more elite wide receivers the game has to offer, but trading Brown would also trigger a $45M cap hit if he were moved.
Not only that, but it was also reported as of late that staffers within the Eagles facility actually want Brown back and would prefer to salvage the relationship. Could this be noise to improve his trade value? We don't know.
We'll just have to continue to wait and see if there are any teams out there who believe they are a star WR away from what they're trying to accomplish.
