Some are starting to question what the Philadelphia Eagles might look like throughout the remainder of the season, and whether they have an opportunity to make the NFC Championship Game.

Perhaps we got a preview of that when they took on the Chicago Bears on Friday afternoon. The Eagles needed to come out and do what was necessary on both sides of the football, but didn’t.

Had the Eagles’ offense been better, it would seem like a lock that they’d at least make the NFC title game.

When asked whether the Eagles or the Bears would make the NFC Championship Game, The Athletic polled a few writers, including Mike Sando. While he believes the Eagles have had real offensive struggles, he still thinks they’re much further along than a team like Chicago.

“The Eagles every day of the week, because they’re further along in their development and have the better roster overall. Caleb Williams is just now learning to play in a new offense. Jalen Hurts is fully established in Philadelphia. Philly also has the better, more consistent defense, one that is less reliant on turnovers,” he wrote.

For The Athletic’s Zach Keefer, that was another point he wanted to bring up.

He believes that while the Bears have done an excellent job, which shows that Philadelphia will have a tough time if it has to play the Bears again, it’s also important to remember that this is still a team that won a Super Bowl a year ago.

“Again, I’m with Mike. When I look at the Bears, two things can be true: Johnson has done a phenomenal job, but they haven’t beaten anybody. Pittsburgh is the only team with a winning record Chicago has defeated this season. Friday doesn’t shape up well for the Bears, in my opinion, because they have an angry Philadelphia team coming home after an embarrassing collapse in Dallas. I still have serious questions about the Eagles, but if I have to pick one to make a playoff run, it’s the reigning champs,” he added.

I'm unsure how much we can continue to think this, given hoe bad the Eagles hav looked recently.
