I thought we were going to be done with the A.J. Brown comments, but I also reminded readers and fans out there that they have to be mindful when they think about someone like Brown and him actually stopping what he says.
I understand that he met with the owner, others in the organization, and more, but Brown has been a guy who wants to come out and say what's on his mind throughout much of his career.
That didn't stop again on Thursday, and I think these were the worst possible comments he could’ve made.
Questioning Saquon Barkley, out of anybody on this offense, as Barkley seems like the only guy who just shows up and wants to get to work, is completely wrong.
Brown has absolutely no reason to come out and throw Barkley or any of his teammates under the bus.
"I guess Saquon [Barkley] ain't the same player either, then," Brown said on Thursday, per ESPN.
I think it's safe to say the Eagles will cut ties with Brown in the offseason.
Unless they have a great way to get him the football throughout the remainder of the season, which clearly hasn't been the case early on, it just doesn't make much sense to keep someone like this around.
Nonetheless, if there was one positive about what he had to say, it was that the Eagles’ offense still has time to figure things out and that he's just worried about beating the Dallas Cowboys right now.
"There's a time and place for it, but right now, I'm just trying to stay focused," he said.
"Ask me about Dallas. Thank you."
We'll see how everything goes throughout the remainder of the season.
Brown has an opportunity to do what's needed for this offense to be what it is looking to be, but all these comments don't help anybody involved.
“Brown said he believes the offense is close to clicking and that it's about cleaning up mistakes and finishing drives,” Tim McManus wrote.
Only time will tell how everything unfolds, but this is shaping up to be a rather ugly divorce, to say the least.
