The Atlanta Falcons need another big night from Bijan Robinson.
The Atlanta Falcons are headed into their biggest game of the season on Monday Night against their most hated rival, a primetime showdown on the road against the New Orleans Saints.
It's the second of a very unusual three straight primetime games for the Falcons in this early portion of the season and hopefully, the second consecutive victory as well after dominating the Green Bay Packers on the road. If there's one thing to really love about Atlanta's chances of success, it's the fact that their biggest star has been at his best throughout his career when the lights are on.
Bijan Robinson has a knack for having big games when the Falcons are playing in primetime, and ESPN revealed some stats that illustrated just how impressive he is in these spots.
Bijan Robinson on Historic Primetime Pace to Begin Falcons Career
In 11 primetime games throughout the early portion of his career, Robinson has the most yards from scrimmage per game since 1970 with an absurd 145.4 yards, comfortably ahead of some of the best running backs in the history of the league like Barry Sanders and O.J. Simpson.
On Monday Night, he's even better with more than 180 yards from scrimmage per game in four contests thus far. Now that he's getting his fifth shot in such a critical game, Robinson will be hungry to prove that these numbers are not a fluke and he really is that strong when the lights are at their brightest.
A strong night from Robinson would go a long way towards Atlanta actually being able to win this game, as establishing the run from the start of the evening would open things up for this offense the way it did last week against Green Bay.
In the victory over the Packers, it was a huge dash from Robinson which ultimately broke the dam for that side of the ball, so him being able to break one quickly this week would be a wonderful sign of things to come. If the way he has performed under the lights to this point in his career is any indication, Robinson should have a great shot at doing just that and turning it into yet another big night.
All eyes will be on Robinson in New Orleans on Monday Night, and chances are, he is going to have another huge game which gives his team a great chance to win.
