The Atlanta Falcons want to start a whole lot faster this week.

The Atlanta Falcons are headed into their biggest game of the season tomorrow night against the New Orleans Saints where they will try to win a second straight and officially put the ugly start to the season behind them.

With three teams tied at 1-2, the winner of this hate-filled rivalry showdown could have a major leg up in competing to win the division title. Both the Saints and Falcons feel they have a real shot at the NFC South in yet another year where winning it will not take a ton, but these things are decided in games like this.

Atlanta started 0-2 largely because of the quarterback situation being a complete mess before Michael Penix Jr. returned, but while Atlanta did dominate the Green Bay Packers in his return, it was not all pretty for four quarters. In fact, it looked like things had the potential to go off the rails in the first quarter last Thursday as Penix and the offense got off to a horrible start.

While speaking to the media, running back Bijan Robinson said he and the entire team know they are not going to be able to win this game if they have that kind of start again.

Bijan Robinson Knows Falcons Need to Start Faster

Ironically, it was a big run from Robinson which eventually jumpstarted that side of the ball in what ended up being a huge night for the star that saw him win the NFC Offensive Player of the Week award. Both he as well as Penix are going to have to get that going from the first drive this time around though rather than having to overcome an early turnover.

Penix getting all of the first team reps this week should go a long way towards the offense being able to look less disjointed and more comfortable right from the start of the game, which ultimately gives Atlanta a better chance to win the game.

Hearing that even after a huge victory where the Falcons won by three touchdowns, they are still hungry to get better should be exactly what fans love. There is no better leader on this team than Robinson, and by the sounds of it, he is doing everything he can to get this thing right.

Time will tell if it leads to what would be one of the best wins for Atlanta in the last several years.
