The Atlanta Falcons saw a huge night from their two superstars when they needed it most.

The Atlanta Falcons are now 1-2 after a very impressive performance on Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers which saw them get a much-needed desperation victory.

Understandably, the story of the night was Michael Penix Jr., who bounced back from a horrendous start in his season debut and return from injury to have a very strong night and help Atlanta get the win. For as great as Penix was though, he was not asked to do a whole lot, which is exactly what the Falcons needed to make the game plan.

A huge part of the reason for that is the two biggest superstars on the team looked like it on Thursday night in Green Bay.

Drake London, Bijan Robinson Going Off Was Huge Reason for Success

After getting extended in the offseason to each become one of the highest paid players in football at their positions, the pressure was on both wide receiver Drake London and running back Bijan Robinson to be able to carry this offense once they got back to a baseline level of competency at quarterback.

It was the unstoppable running of Robinson which kept the wheels from falling off for the offense early, and the physical domination of London which ultimately put the game away in the second half.

Robinson accounted for more than 200 total yards with 194 on the ground in 129 carries and another two catches for 19 yards. London meanwhile racked up his own 194 yards through the air on nine receptions, and though he did not find the end zone, he set Atlanta up deep in the red zone on two separate occasions in the 35-14 win.

If this can be the version the Falcons get from their two stars the rest of the season and everyone can stay healthy, this is an Atlanta team capable of giving anyone they go up against a fight till the finish. This was the team fans envisioned when Kevin Stefanski was hired, and after their first taste of success, they will be hungry for more here moving forward.

Next up is a mini bye before staying on the road and heading to New Orleans next week for Monday Night Football and an absolutely massive game against the Saints. It's safe to say Stefanski's Falcons have arrived, and they are led by two of the biggest stars in the league who the new administration made it a point this offseason to keep around.
