The Atlanta Falcons locked up one of the faces of the franchise Tuesday, agreeing to a massive extension with star wide receiver Drake London. The four-year deal keeps London in Atlanta through 2030 and makes him one of the highest-paid receivers in NFL history.

The Atlanta Falcons took care of business on Tuesday.

Star wide receiver Drake London and the team have agreed on a massive contract extension that will keep him locked in to the Falcons for the foreseeable future.

The deal is a four-year, $141 million extension, worth up to $150 million, including $100 million in guaranteed money. This deal makes him the third-highest-paid wideout in the NFL, only behind Jaxon-Smith-Njigba ($168M) and Ja’Marr Chase ($161M).

London was selected by the Falcons 8th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft and was heading into his contract season, the fifth-year option worth just over $16 million. Instead, he will stay in Atlanta through the 2030 season and get a big bump in pay as well.

Last season, he recorded 919 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns across 12 games. He already has close to 4,000 yards and 22 touchdowns in his first four years in the league. He is 10th all-time in Falcons franchise history in receiving.

The contract is also an Atlanta Falcons record for the highest average annual value of $35.25 million.

The next step is to extend his counterpart on offense, star running back Bijan Robinson, as well as potentially tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. The way Matt Ryan and the new Falcons front office are responding this offseason, it seems like that one won’t be too far behind.

London, who has had to deal with multiple quarterbacks at the helm for Atlanta, signs the extension with multiple options, planning to battle again for the starting job this year. Now that the front office has invested in their key weapon, new head coach Kevin Stefanski must make sure whoever he chooses wins the QB battle between Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr., and make him a priority.
