The Atlanta Falcons are exactly two weeks away from the start of the regular season after what has been a long summer of training camp and now a complete preseason schedule.

Going into camp, many were focused on the quarterback battle because this is always the position fans will gravitate towards, however a number of other battles were going on throughout camp. Though he did miss some time and as a result fall a bit behind, second round selection Avieon Terrell was one guy fans were most focused on this summer.

Despite a minor injury costing him practice reps, Terrell made a full healthy return this week, and it sounds like he has made a serious impression on the coaching staff as well. Secondary coach Justin Hood spoke to the media this past week and offered some real praise as to what Terrell has brought so far both on and off the field.

"Avieon’s been great," Hood said via Daniel Flick of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Good in the meeting room, good on the grass. Young energy, youthful, asks a lot of great questions. So, he's fun to work with & you come in with him every single day & you see how eager he is to learn."

By the sounds of it, Terrell is doing everything he is supposed to do not only on the field, but perhaps even more importantly off the field as well. This is how a young player finds his way on the field as quickly as possible, and it sounds like that could very well end up being the case this season.

Terrell entered camp with a massive question who would be starting opposite of his brother AJ, and while he will have to continue to prove it, it seems like he has a great chance of locking down that role by the time the season really gets going.

With just a couple of weeks left to prove to the coaching staff why he should be the starting second corner, Terrell is doing all that is possible to lock it down. Unquestionably, he is going to be a significant part of what this team does on defense in 2026, and maybe just maybe, a regular starter.

With the season set to begin, it seems the brotherly tandem in the Falcons secondary is inevitable, which is an extremely unique and exciting reality.
