The Atlanta Falcons are grateful to have their franchise legend in the building.
The Atlanta Falcons are beginning a new era this season under a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski, which comes with its own exciting set of challenges and new way things operate in the building on a day-to-day basis.
A new coaching staff is far from the only change though, and Atlanta made sweeping changes to its front office after another disappointing year in 2025 as well. Perhaps the most notable move was bringing in franchise legend Matt Ryan as the team's President of Football, and he has been deeply involved throughout the offseason.
It sounds like he has already made quite the impression, and assistant general manager Jeff Scott offered some serious praise when talking about the impact Ryan has already made in the building since returning to the franchise.
Falcons Clearly Happy with Ryan So Far
"Matt, when he said he's here to support in any way, he really is," Scott told Falcons.com. "I mean, you guys see out of practice, he'll help with kind of anything. I know he's done like some scout team, helping with the defense. He's in our meetings and helping with us. But I really think it's really wherever we need help; he's willing to step in. He has no ego."
Ryan has been seen both on the field talking to coaches as well as all over the building performing different kind of roles. Atlanta was always going to be able to get creative with how they deployed him, and it seems like that is exactly what it is they are doing.
Helping coaches talk through the quarterback battle, breaking down film, giving advice to players, helping devise schemes and game plans, and so much more are all things that Ryan can do now that he is back in the building.
Sometimes, there can be too many voices within an organization and egos get involved, but it seems like at least so far, that could not be further from the case here. Ryan was always humble as a player, and it seems nothing has changed there since hanging up the cleats.
Nobody wants to see this organization succeed more than him, and he is doing everything he can in order to make that happen. If continued collaboration can occur between him and the rest of the decision makers in the building, perhaps some very bright days may be ahead for the franchise as a whole.
