The Atlanta Falcons could save themselves money long-term by extending center Ryan Neuzil before the 2026 season begins. After emerging as a reliable starter in 2025, Neuzil’s value may continue to rise under Kevin Stefanski’s run-heavy offense and offensive line coach Bill Callahan.

The Atlanta Falcons have plenty of decisions to make this upcoming offseason when it comes to pending free agents.

As the team transitions into a new era of Falcons football, with Matt Ryan leading the front office and Kevin Stefanski as the new head coach, the team will need to decide which players to retain for the future of the organization.

The team has multiple big names to consider and potentially prioritize when it comes to contract extensions this season, including star wide receiver Drake London, but he's not the only one. With the quarterback competition between Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa likely to span the entirety of training camp, emphasizing locking in their protection might also be the right decision.

Former undrafted offensive lineman Ryan Neuzil made a name for himself last year after taking over the reins as the team's starting center. He was more than serviceable this past season after letting former center Drew Dalman walk in free agency. Neuzil stepped into the role and was a solid addition to the Falcons' offensive line in 2025. Now, with Kevin Stefanski at the helm and new offensive line coach Bill Callahan, locking down Neuzil, who signed a two-year deal at the beginning of last offseason, may provide the organization the most value before he can hit the free market.

With the team having to worry about big-time extensions like London and potentially tight end Kyle Pitts Sr, finding value from proven talent like Neuzil is exactly what the front office needs to ensure they don't pass up on.

Neuzil was the centerpiece of the offensive line, helping star running back Bijan Robinson finish with over 2,000 total yards from scrimmage, including almost 1,500 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns.  With a run-heavy offensive approach from new head coach Kevin Stefanski, Neuzil could find his value rise significantly if success strikes again.

Getting a deal done before the season starts might benefit the Falcons, rather than letting the center bet on himself. Something the former UDFA has done a time or two before, and does not appear to be phased to play with a chip on his shoulder.
