Former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew’s son, Deuce, announced on May 3 he will follow in his father’s footsteps after he committed to the UCLA Bruins for 2027.

The diminutive Jones-Drew (5-foot-7, 210 pounds) starred for the Jaguars from 2008-2013 and played all but one season for Jacksonville in his nine-year career. Deuce, who is a 5-foot-8 and 175-pound running back, currently plays for De La Salle High School in California. He is also a three-star recruit who picked UCLA and new head coach Bob Chesney over Arizona and Cal.

At UCLA from 2003-2005, Jones-Drew rushed for 2,503 yards and 2 TDs. The Jaguars selected Jones-Drew in the second round of the 2006 draft, where he went on to finish his career as the franchise’s second-leading rusher with 8,071 yards and the all-time rushing touchdown record with 68.

His best season came in 2011 when he led the NFL in rushing with 1,606 yards on 343 attempts with eight touchdowns and was named an All-Pro.

Since retiring Jones-Drew has appeared as a color analyst for the NFL Network and CBS Sports, and he is currently the color analyst for the Los Angeles Rams.
