San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Wednesday that assistant head coach and former Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley is the main internal candidate to take over as defensive coordinator.

San Francisco needs to fill the position vacated when Robert Saleh was announced as the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans, though the team has yet to officially announce the hiring.

Bradley was head coach of the Jaguars from 2013-16 and was also defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks (2009-12), Los Angeles Chargers (2017-20), Las Vegas Raiders (2021) and Indianapolis Colts (2022-24).
