The NFL released team attendance totals for the 2025 season Thursday, and much like lies, durned lies, and statistics, the numbers can be looked at in a variety of ways -- side-eyed and skewed or clear-eyed and subdued.
At first glance, the Jacksonville Jaguars' attendance figures itch in the same way the phrase "small-market" irritated Jags players and fans even amidst the team's eight-game winning streak in the second half of this past season. Jaguars home crowds for 2025 totaled 580,013 and "averaged" 64,445. But one of those "home" games -- in Week 7 -- was played against the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium in London. That contest netted the Jags' largest home crowd at 86,152 -- the best attended NFL overseas game last year. The team's most-attended home game of 2025 took place in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, who fell to Jacksonville 31-28 before a crowd of 69,329.
The AFC Wild Card playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium had an official attendance of 70,250 on Jan. 11, 2026, as raucous Bills fans helped fill the stadium past its everyday capacity. (Doug Engle/Florida Times-Union)It's difficult to tell where the Jaguars rank among NFL teams in average home crowds, as overseas games artificially inflate or drag down those averages. (Week 1's Chargers-Chiefs game at São Paulo, Brazil's Corinthians Stadium drew just 47, 627, the lowest attendance for the NFL's slate of overseas games in 2025.)
Also, 18 teams did not provide average home-attendance numbers.
The Dallas Cowboys, as usual, tops the rankings as the team that draws the highest home attendance numbers (743,934) and the highest total (1,367,559). The Jags sit at 18th, but again with the weird statistics.
The current Everbank Stadium allegedly seats roughly 67,834 at capacity, though that number has varied widely since Jacksonville Municipal Stadium opened as the home of the Jaguars in 1995. The team's relative youth as an NFL team means its home stadium has gone through only a few name changes over the years; Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, with a seating capacity of 73,000, became Alltel Stadium, expanding capacity to 76,867.
The party deck and two pools at Everbank Stadium opened in 2014, requiring the removal of some 12,000 seats on the north end-zone sections of the stadium. It's the only NFL stadium with such a feature. (Bob Self/Florida Times-Union)The Jaguars, in the second-smallest market in the league, rarely filled the stadium's available seats. Entire sections were often tarped over amid low ticket sales. This past season saw four home games with attendance below 60,000, with the lowest at 54,098 in Week 11, when the Jags beat the 7-4 Los Angeles Chargers.
Alltel hosted one of the stadium's biggest draws during its 10-year run. Host site for the 2003 Super Bowl, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles versus (that is, losing to) the New England Patriots, Alltel reported attendance at 78,125. Jacksonville Municipal Stadium (TIAA Bank Field) hosted its largest crowd ever -- with 85,413 in attendance -- when Bobby Bowden's Seminoles defeated then-No. 22 Alabama, led by first-year Tide coach Nick Saban, on Sept. 29, 2007. The stadium constructed temporary bleachers near the south end zone to allow for larger-capacity college games.
Attendance for Jaguars games peaked in 2004, when Jacksonville hosted (and lost to) the Pittsburgh Steelers and their rookie quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, before a crowd of 76,877.
Guests can reserve Tropical Smoothie Cafe Spa Cabanas at Everbank Stadium's party deck and two pools for minimum 50 guests and $17,000. (Bob Self/Florida Times-Union)Since 2014, more than 12,000 seats have been removed to install a pool deck, end-zone cabanas, and upgraded club suites. The two heated pools and party deck and their usually scantily clad and boozy denizens look really good on TV -- it is the only such feature in any NFL stadium -- but it may not be sustainable, as "spa cabana packages" for 50 guests start at $17,000.
With the stadium undergoing $1.4 billion in renovations throughout 2026 and 2027, the Jaguars will play home games at Everbank next season, but capacity will be limited to an estimated 43,000, with only the lower bowl of seating open. The pools, party deck, and cabanas will be closed.
In 2027, the team will play home games elsewhere in Florida, likely at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, though the team has not yet confirmed this location.
